As a researcher, Chantale has spent many years vetting data for consistency, authenticity, relevance, and timeliness. With the Library Research Notes newsletter, these resources, along with current events news, will be shared with you!

Are you interested in current events but just don’t have the time to properly vet all the resources you find online? Would you like to further cultivate your critical thinking skills? Are you overwhelmed by the amount of information online, but still want to know more about topics of interest? The Library Research Notes newsletter will assist you in all this and more by appearing in your inbox full of links to articles, books, actions, and organizations, helping you become more educated on and active in American civic life.

A little bit about the founder

Chantale honed her online skills in the IRC rooms of the 1990s. Dial-up, telnet, olohof, and a computer lab at a State school supported her ability to be part of the conversation. She began blogging as hippiegrrl in 2002 (thanks to a little push from a now archived site called backwash.com) and tackled topics such as current events, politics, music, coffee, social justice, activism, human rights, and crafts.

From an academic perspective, Chantale holds BA degrees in both Music Performance and Sociology and an MS in Library and Information Science. Her education, coupled with many years in the fields of research and analysis, makes her uniquely positioned to be an expert in online research. She hopes you find this newsletter both informative and inspiring and that it will spark the researcher in you!
