Research Notes - A newsletter for current and future nerds

Welcome to something completely new. When I started this substack account, I thought that the newsletter I was going to produce would be a round-up of all the posts from hippiegrrl media and that is the content that has been posted here since the beginning. But, now, I have decided to go in another direction.

I have noticed a deep misunderstanding of resource vetting online and I want to make a small contribution to the effort of good research. In the tradition of Library and Information Science, this newsletter will seek to help readers better understand resources and how to know when a source is valid. Tools such as the CRAAP test have been invaluable to me in my online source vetting and I believe these resources will help you improve your research skills as well.

This newsletter will also focus on providing information about the current state of civic life in America and the resources to make it a better place. Antiracist and antisexist practices are close to my heart and I would like to share these concepts, as well as further reading and action resources, with you so that you can be part of the movement toward a better, equal for all, America. Together, we can make this country better to live in for everyone, but only through good sources will we find that better future.
